This collaboration will bring specialised risk and insurance training to the fast-evolving offshore wind sector, supporting the industry’s growth and helping professionals build critical expertise in the role of insurance within a complex risk environment. 

As part of this strategic partnership, Marsh & McLennan will offer an in-depth, eight-chapter insurance training course. This curriculum will cover key principles of risk transfer strategy, demonstrating how such strategies can deliver significant commercial and financial value to offshore wind projects. The training will be led by seasoned experts with years of hands-on experience, ensuring a high-quality and valuable learning experience for all participants.

About the Course

The risk and insurance training modules will start with an overview of how 'project risks'—including technology selection, design, and supply chain—impact the scope and cost of insurance products. As the course advances, this foundational knowledge will evolve into a comprehensive 'risk transfer strategy.' This strategy represents a structured approach that can create commercial and financial value for a project by fostering a complete and holistic understanding of project risks and the available mitigations. The risk transfer strategy will include in-depth insights and expert perspectives on critical topics such as risk modelling and analysis, contractual risk allocation, long-term premium budgeting, and interactions with the insurance market and its various stakeholders.
